We trust you are all safe and well at this time.
Following the Government and RFU recent announcement regarding the easing of lock-down measures and potential return to rugby activities, we wish to issue an update on our position.
At last night’s board meeting the subject was discussed in detail and it was decided that there will be no change to the current position of the club and its facilities will remain closed.
During the coming weeks the implications of the announcements and further ones will be considered, then the position will be reviewed at the next board meeting on 6 July 2020.
We have committed on pitch maintenance and all pitches have been seeded and fertilised this week, which in any event would mean that no activities can take place until safe to do so.
We must no lose sight of the fact the under normal circumstances we would have just finished the season and the players would need to be taking a break from rugby activities as highlighted by RFU guidelines. With regard to this Dean Jeffery will be issuing the RFU guide to out of season rugby activities to all age groups in due course.
We will issue a further update in the near future when we have a better idea of how we can safely reopen within the Government and RFU guidelines.
Thank you for your understanding during these testing times.
